Shooting with Staci

Here is the first gallery of photos from one of the photography trips my niece Staci Hawkes and I used to make before she passed away in Feb. of 2023.
We always had fun, laughed a lot, talked a lot and really got to know each other quite well. These shoots between us became some of my best memories of photography.
These are a few of my photos with Staci from a trip around the Bangor area ending up in downtown Bangor.

I miss the people and the music

Back when I lived in the midcoast I could go and photograph folks performing almost every night. I miss the people and the great music they provided.
I don't know what the music scene is in the Midcoast anymore, but I hope it has survived. I would love to go and listen and get some new photographs.

Here are a few I liked from July 14, 2014 at the Highland Cafe in Thomaston. Click on the photo for a larger picture!! 😀

Ship in the harbor

After a long hiatus from this blog I started years ago I now have the time to not only get out and find some new treasures but to also re-edit some of the thousands of photos I still have.

July 25, 2015 this ship sat in Rockland Harbor. Here are a couple of versions of the photo!!

Dedham Me: The Lucerne Inn and Golf Course

A trip past Lucerne Inn called for a quick stop. I love this place. Beautiful inside and out. Real nice golf course across the street.

A few new ones from a trip to Orono

Took a new route up to Old Town and then over to Orono this afternoon. Ended up by the University of Maine. I managed to get a little sun before it disappeared. The last two are from the largest Corn Field I have ever seen. I could not get up over it enough to see it all. I will try from a different angle tomorrow. <3

Bangor: Cascade Park

This is a great place to go for a walk, take the dog, enjoy a picnic, or just relax and read a book by the water cascade. Located on State St. next door to the Bangor Waterworks!!

Just a Raggedy Hobo

Imagine sitting and waiting for the train to come by so you can hop aboard and see where it takes you. It was and is a rough way to live, but if you are lucky you stay safe and see the country from a different perspective. If I had the courage I would love to do this.

The railroad holds many adventures besides moving products around the country. (Photo by Ron Hawkes)
